sorry about the times I post but I like to get to the bottom of things and the angle iron frame is bugging me, I have seen another Atco today on another forum I am on and it has a 4 stroke Villiers Mark12 engine fitted to it and has the angle iron cross members, and as Sir Chook has alluded to your mower having had the engine replaced, yours may have been originally fitted with a four stroke.
Of all the Atco images I can find all but one has the rods and pipe mounts, the one that was different has flat steel bar across for the engine mount.
