Thanks for the info. Plenty to chew over. I actually saw a Commando for sale the other day, with the plug, catcher, etc in great condition and rang the guy up, but it was already gone for $80. I might see if that plate, so something like it, would be an easy fit.
Mystyler, I thought the last Commandos were 19 inch models. That is news to me. There are so many models of Victas around, it can get confusing trying to track down the right model, and you have engines with shorter shafts, longer shafts, etc etc...
