Restorations to come.

Clockwise from top left.

What I believe is a 1958 Qualcast Royal Blade Deluxe. I have a catalogue description of this mower, the only diference being that mine has a single drive drum at the back, instead of two drive wheels. ie. No Duo Clutch. It has a J.A.P, Model 80, Type 71, 2 stroke engine, which I also have a booklet on spare parts that came with it, and I also have a booklet on the Model M, Type 45, engine. The only diference between the two is the carb. The Model 80 uses a AMAL 360/36, and the Model M uses an AMAL 360/9. The two booklets are the original items from JA Prestwich Industries.

A Victa Corvette 2 with a steel catcher, (no rust).

A Mayfair Corvette 2

A Victa Cortina 2 with a steel catcher, (no rust in this one either.

All future projects.

The Qualcast restoration, in particular, will be of interest for the archives, Greg. When the time comes I hope you'll post reports on the project in the appropriate forum.

I would say that the

"A Mayfair Corvette 2" is a bitza looking at it.

I would say someone has put that cowl or engine on that base.
Someone here will know a bit more history on the mayfair, but from the ones ive seen it should have a front mounted tank and the zip starter as part of the plastic engine cover.

Thanks Bob, I'm not sure myself. The starter doesn't look right, and I did wonder about the Corvette 2 engine on it. I know it's got a nice set of yellow hub caps though!! lol

Typically from the mowers ive seen the mayfair is a later model low arch, Mk 4 series 70 engine with the plastic carb. The handles could tell you if thats the case. Well assuming they are original to the base.

Those yellow wheel caps could be something special for a resto down the track. If you can work out what they are off. All the mayfairs i have seen have had the solid rubber wheels with red caps.

The Corvette (engine) should have the wind up impulse on it. Someone must have changed the starter cup and put the zip starter on it.

Yellow Pace would be fairly rare i would think.

Ive got one here and it has red caps.

The yellow ones ive seen on a few sunbeams, but later high arch ones.
