Hi all,

I just had another look at this LPG mower and why the new carby wouldn't work well on LPG.

I didn't spend much time on it fixing the problem ,just drilled the gas fitting out a couple sizes larger and put an angled edge
on the brass inside of the carby also I had to change the throttle shaft as before I hadn't noticed where the carby
linkage fits in is slightly different on the gas carby as it was for horizontal shaft motor and I'm using the vertical shaft motor.

One extra thing I did was install a plastic fuel tap on the petrol fuel line.

Turned the bottle on and it ran well but had to adjust the lpg down so the fitting most likely is drawing LPG better now.

It ran well on petrol too, no problems on either fuel.

Instead of using the alloy fuel bowl, I've installed a metal one.

Cheers
Max.

Yes Ebay have had them for years Tyler ,only thing is the converter being under the carby means it will
fit a generator / water pump but probably won't fit on a mower without modifications.

The Impco small engine lpg kit will fit a mower https://www.ebay.com/itm/LOW-PROPAN...303445-309447-294447-303447/181190873896

You can buy a LPG carby from LEHR that's lpg only.

The only problem with my mower is I have no governor so I just adjust the throttle with the rpm at 3300 and cut
the grass but if the grass if really high the rpm drops a fair amount ,I was thinking of going to 8 hp or just
fitting a SU type of carby with a vacuum controlled slide .I guess it wouldn't be too difficult to make a vacuum controlled
fuel enrichment system so when vacuum drops a little extra lpg will supply the engine.

Cheers
Max.

My missus bought a Dyson about 15/20 years ago and she was not happy with it, a couple of things broke and I didn't get involved but I think it was relegated to a far corner somewhere never to surface again.
Hi exfarmer, the one I have had some involvement with only had the external fiber gears, I guess a few bearings in there and the pulley from the belt has a couple of bearings, I had to replace those from memory. I can't imaging replacing those would go close to replacing the under-designed, fragile 3 speed Honda gear box. If you were closer I would grab it in a heartbeat. My grandson is using his great grandfathers in his mowing business and loves it.
