It would only start with Aerostart and full choke (even when hot). It would not start from the carb at all.

You should look at the airfilter assembly because that can cause a lot of issues if it is warpped it will cause starting issues and running issues.

Just search on the forum and you will find other people that have the same problem.

Thank you to Max and AVB for finding a possible replacement carb for me. The one Max suggested looked good enough but AVB's one is identical to what I have.

Between Max, AVB and Norm I reckon any problem with mechanical devices could be solved. I am very grateful to be able to ask questions and receive such excellent advice on ODK

Make certain carb float bowl is emptied by turning tap off and running til it stops.

To start, flood carb, use full choke ( strangler ) full throttle.Open strangle a little at first sound of firing

I purchased the NGK BPR7EIX but after more research, decided that the BP6ES or NGK BPR6EIX was a more suitable replacement as the 6.5HP is a Honda clone.

Anyway, what I have noticed is the engine starts as before but on being turned off even before getting warm, will start using 1/2 or no choke whereas the F7TC always required full choke.

On running with NGK BPR6EIX, I've also noted that the burnt petrol fumes aren't as strong.

Currently using 91 but may change to 95 to see if any difference.
