It is like a re-modelled version of the popular Heavy Duty Australian one. The red paint could put it in Rover's "red" period, so probably 1980s/90s, maybe as late as about 2013. Would the OHV be the original engine I wonder?

Has been answered here: Rover flail mower

As always Max, it is a case of what people are wanting at the time and what they are willing to pay. I've seen some excellent parts listed on ebay at times for a low price and nobody buys them. The same or poorer quality parts are listed by others very cheaply but a few bidders get caught up in a bidding war, and before they know it they end up paying ten times the price. I'm not quite sure of the sanity among those who bid in this way.

My Collection - Revised

Hi Gadge, I hadn't looked at the unit that came in the Rofo box since I took the original pictures. Now I'm under no illusion that the unit itself is most likely a failed unit. But I decided to take a closer look at it today and it's definitely got the RO⚡FO branding on the unit. It's very small but it's definitely there. I have a zoomed in image of it and a couple of Images of my NOS victa branded one.

Hi Norm,

Well, the air filter was clean [tho' the foam was rotted], and the oil level was OK. So with any luck, the motor will be OK/fixable - Magnetron ignition, too.

However, the oil that crept slowly out of this one, was the sludgiest crud I've ever seen come out of any engine!
I do have a possible backup motor, in the shape of a Honda GXV120, too.

I'll give it a new spark plug, new oil and air filter, and see if it will fire up, soonish.

If it runs, I'll change the blade disc [it's very heavily rusted] to one off a parted-out SupaSwift Big Bob that I have here, and cut the blades down to the 18" cut Little Bob length.

The blade disc that's on it does look original, but has very heavy rust. Pic to follow.

No worries Mowerfreak. Not knocking the Victa collectors, just not my thing. Spent way too much time working on them as a kid with my old man, I think most people have some story of growing up with Victa’s. And though only one of my reel mowers is Australian, I kinda like working on the more obscure Australian stuff.
Cheers
Batimus.
