Gday, I have a Victa V40 4 Stroke lawnkeeper mower, I am getting fuel leaking out of the carbi (air filter end). Its not the gasket leaking, it looks as though there is a port for fuel to escape? Any help would be great.
Cheers

Can you put up a photo, so we can work out which engine you have.

It sounds to me like either your float has sunk, or your needle is jammed, however that is assuming where talking about a gravity fed engine.

Ty, from the description I am pretty sure we are talking about the victa clonda engine... But yes I dare say jammed/dirty needle and seat within the carb

Ah, I'm not particularly familiar with that engine, but if the fuel is gravity fed (like a Honda) then that's where i would be starting.

If you remove the float bowl from the carby, and have a good look at the needle, float, etc. and clean the whole lot up, that might just fix your issue.

Why not post a picture of the engine, and at least one more of the carburetor specifically? From what Joe said I take it this is a Chonda? That means Honda lore is somewhat applicable to the carburetor, but the quality is in considerable doubt. We can probably work through the issues without much difficulty, but whether the thing is fixable so that it will stay fixed, is another question altogether.

Thanks Bruce. Yes, that's a Chonda.

The carburetor appears to be one that is sold by various suppliers as being interchangeable with the Keihin BE03A fitted to the Honda GXV120 engine. Here is a video showing how to clean the BE03A:

In this case though, you need to inspect the float pivot area carefully to check whether it is binding, and flush the fuel tank, fuel filter, and hoses. You will also need to dismantle and inspect the fuel tap which is built into the carburetor. Clean the whole carburetor as shown in the video: there may be debris from the manufacturing processes in there.

Gday Guys, Pulled the bowl off carbi, pulled float off, cleaned pin and seat and it looks as though this has done the trick. Thanks for your help.
