The Howard Group once ruled the world for small cultivators
and associated machinery for a large part of last century.
So much has been written about Australian-born Arthur
Clifford Howard [1893–1971]. From humble beginnings in
Australia, his empire grew to a worldwide dominance in that industry.

rotary cultivator. The Bullfinch was a small rotavator to
which could be attached other implements.
The Bullfinch’s production seems to have been over

1950s, it was certainly made here from the 1960s onwards.
It was an incredibly successful model.
This machine is interesting because it could do so much
more than cultivate … It could hoe, furrow, weed, and
… mow grass!
