Good afternoon all

Picked up the above today, the dial throttle control is a bit of a novelty. There has been a bit written in forums on this engine and it does look an original fitment. The other thing to note on this mower is the lack of mounting holes on the upper handlebar for the installation of a more traditional throttle control lever, unless the upper bar was replaced but doesn't look to have been. Model MT 341A1

It looks to be original to me.
This was the 3hp version with an 8 Series Briggs.
The 3.5 hp Charger would have a 9 Series Briggs.

Best guess would be c1982-83 when Sunbeam owned Victa.

It would appear that only the 3hp Lancer would have the rotary knob throttle.

Another new discovery for me this one.

Maybe it was a proposed export model for the U.S market that fell through.

As Mr Spock would say if he was an Australian based Victa nut "most unusual".

The steel base looks great in Mayfair gold.

Thanks for the link CJ. Very easy to lose track of some golden threads here. I do appreciate the Google facility above though. It has helped in tracking down old threads I know of at least.
